6.3 Definition.
6.3.1 Scale error. Scale error is the difference between the indication of the instrument and the
calibrated airspeed corresponding to the applied differential pressure.
6.4 Damping. Previous indicators were equipped with a length of capillary tubing having a
minimum inside diameter of 0.02 inch between the pitot connection in the rear of the case and the
diaphragm capsule. The effect of this restriction was to ensure the indicator met the damping
requirements.
